Preliminary exercise feedback and learner response
- The graphic identity / artist and song name on the white wall
background works well. However, if that bit is performance lip-syncing it
isn’t synced up correctly so you’ll need to either re-edit it to line it
up or re-shoot it if the performance doesn’t match the song. This will be
a vital aspect for the real coursework as you’ll need the lip syncing
edited perfectly in time.
- The shots/narrative fit the feel of the song well. I wonder if it’s
worth trying some filters or slow motion to increase the emotional
intensity of the video?
- In terms of the narrative/performance element – you only have that
little bit of performance at the start. If you are going to have both
elements make sure you keep cutting back and forth between the performance
and the narrative element.
- The shot by the tree works well – try and use more shots like this
in the full video.
- Having said that, you re-use the tree shot within the 30 seconds of
the preliminary exercise so this is a very good lesson in making sure you
shoot enough video so you are not forced to re-use shots.
2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write three WWW bullet points and three EBI bullet points for your preliminary exercise.
WWW:
- The name of the song faded well.
EBI:
- To have the lip syncing in time
